The Fellowship

COMING SOON

The Fellowship

Help with life. By us, for us.

We get it.

f you’re lucky enough to get a diagnosis, you’re even luckier to get any quality help afterwards.

Many of us are “functional” some of the time. Some of us seem functional hardly any of the time, yet feel our potential.

Some of us work. Many don’t. Even those who have worked will probably have run into trouble.

Then there’s the Social Exclusion. The the Sensory issues. The ‘executive function’ problems with organisation and money…

Being in the world, being ‘in our heads’, isolation, anxiety, low mood and despair can stalk us.

The state of many Aspie’s Self Esteem, and their Sense of Self, is shocking. It’s no wonder given the lives some of us have had.

And it’s little better for our Loved Ones. The NHS and Charities try their best, but a Lack of Funding is Lack of Funding.

Relatives of Aspies are often in great distress themselves, without immediate guidance and support.

Excellent support is available up and down the country, but often in pockets.

The ‘Care Pathways’ of the NHS will never add up to the connected, communicating, growing and improving services we really need.

It’s been questioned what would the world be like if Aspies ran it?

Welcome to The Fellowship

We're here for you.

We're the ones who've been where you are, needed help and not known where to turn.

We're the ones, like you, perceived as different.

We share a commonality within that, a new perception of things, of ideas, of the world.

You'll see with us that there's a complete range of solutions and therapies available to support you

no matter your background, and we'll encourage lifelong membership

- so that if you ever need us, you have our word we'll do our best to support you both now, and in the future.

We're not sticking plasters over everyone's experiences, we're here to break new ground,

making strides in the support of everyone - not just for now, but as a lifelong commitment to a healthier you.

Why?

Because you're different.

Because we're different.

Because together we're going to make a difference.

Our services will be delivered by people who actually know what we go through, because they live it themselves.

We're a place run, and controlled by, Aspies.

Neurotypicals are welcome on board at clinical staff, provided they are genuinely ‘autism affirmative’.

This, is The Fellowship.

Offering everything from individual counselling to showcasing the power of meeting in groups,

we'll offer therapeutically, educationally, and pragmatically based solutions in a manner that's never been done before.

We will have a wealth of online knowledge and guidance and further room for support, including for those of us in crisis.

We all have our ups and down with Asperger’s and you'll be able to move through different levels of support as you need it.

We intend to be constantly checking if what we are doing is right, adapting and improving as we go,

with innovation at the forefront of our minds.

The Fellowship is constantly evolving, constantly growing.

We stay responsible to our Fellows, but we are not scared to experiment with helping interventions.

We start locally to prove our model, then we spread the word.

We work as ‘scientist practitioners’, fearlessly researching our own efforts.

We are a Business.

Our services are paid for by our Fellows.

We will not get into the pockets of commissioners who then insist on more and more for less and less,

who ration and water down effective services to suit their own goals.

Nor will we be at the mercy of grants and tenders, which soon run out and leave services high-and dry.

We frame our goals, we defend them, and we fund them ourselves.

We recruit from within.

We train, and award, from within.

We retain control.

We define success in our own terms.
We will come together, to foster individual healing and wellbeing, personal growth, resilience and independence.

No service can ever take care of all our needs, the Fellowship is not about offering a ‘care package’
but it is hoped that through getting involved and heal ourselves, some of us will want to pass that healing on.
